Visit of the Princess Royal Tuesday 8th March 2005 The Safer Luton Partnership today held a reception in the presence of HRH Princess Anne, also attended by local dignitaries, community and business leaders, stakeholders and staff. This is the third time which the Princess Royal has chosen to visit the Partnership and its staff and she spoke about this long association during her keynote address. Other speeches were made by Mrs. Joan Bailey, the Programme Manager of the Safer Luton Partnership, Mr. Brian McFarlane, the Chair of the Safer Luton Partnership stakeholders group and Mr. Roger Howard, the Chief Executive of Crime Concern. In addition to these addresses a presentation was made by Mr. Rajab Ali, Project Worker for the Safer Luton Partnership and two young people Jack England and Zeeshan Asmat. Both Jack and Zeeshan were involved in one of the initiatives managed by the Youth Inclusion Programme and Crime Concern, called "Reflections on Tomorrow" which was designed to give a voice to young people at risk. |
