Safety Squad 2006 Launch

Friday 10th March 2006

This is our 16th year of Safety Squad. The object of Safety Squad is to allow children to visit 7 simulated real life situations, recreated in sets, which are run by agencies concerned with personal safety and crisis management, and to create an enjoyable learning experience for the children, testing their awareness of dangers and skill in dealing with situations that any one of them could encounter at any time in their lives.

This is a worthwhile project and is run as an ancillary task by the agencies involved, who commit themselves in time and resources. All the staff who participate in Safety Squad equally enjoy the fortnight and have learnt and continue to learn a lot over the years.

We look forward to this years Safety Squad being a success and for the Safety Squad to continue promoting safety and crises management to the children in Luton in many years to come.

The agencies involved this year are Bedfordshire Police, The Safer Luton Partnership, Beds Fire & Rescue Service, St. John Ambulance, Luton Borough Council, Luton Neighbourhood Watch, Vauxhall Motors and Home Safety.
