Youth Detached Team featured in Lutonline

26th May 2005

The work of the High Town Youth Detached Team was highlighted in the June 2005 edition of Lutonline, Luton Borough Council's newpaper. The Team is funded by the government Single Regeneration Board (SRB) stream and forms part of the Luton Youth Inclusion Programme which is managed by the Safer Luton Partnership.

In addition to High Town, the Youth Detached Team also works in the Lewsey Farm and Ashcroft areas acting as an early intervention scheme where young people are diverted away from antisocial behaviour. This detached or outreach work is carried out in conjunction with more traditional youth work in fixed facilities to ensure that those young people who do not attend the youth centres are made aware of the facilities available and signposted towards local agencies and support.
