Partnership Work

In addition to our project activities the Safer Luton Partnership acts as the vehicle for the delivery of Luton's three-year Community Safety Strategy including the production of the Crime and Disorder Audit for Luton and the Community Safety Strategy itself. These activities are part of the work carried out under the banner of the Luton Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (Luton CDRP).

Our key partners in this work are Bedfordshire Police and Luton Borough Council, links to their websites can be found below:

Crime Reduction

As part of the the Luton CDRP, the Safer Luton Partnership is responsible for the delivery of several statutory requirements including the production of the Community Safety Strategy and the Crime and Disorder Audit on a three-yearly cycle.

This process involves conducting the audit, reviewing and analysing local crime and socio-economic patterns, and then using these findings to consult with the local community in order to focus on emerging issues of community safety. Using these issues that arise from the audit and the public consultations, relevant strategies for local crime and disorder reduction are designed. Then these strategies are implemented and continuously evaluated in order to assess the achievement of stated objectives and re-appraise the effectiveness of the strategy itself.

Luton's Community Safety Strategy 2005-2008 is available for download here, or as a printed booklet from the Safer Luton Partnership main office. The Crime and Disorder Audit 2005 is available in two formats, the complete audit (163 pages) is available here, and the summary audit (19 pages) is available here.
